Learning Together: Criminology on the 'inside'

Taking place at HMP Lancaster Farm, this module is a fascinating opportunity to learn alongside current prisoners.

The teaching sessions will be a combination of lecture and seminars, to encourage group discussion and collaboration between participants. External speakers from Learning Together programmes at other institutions will be invited to deliver some of the sessions.

Sessions will include:

• Welcome by Governor
• Justifications for imprisonment
• Impacts and effects of imprisonment
• Values and legitimacy of imprisonment
• Desisting from crime
• Resettlement
• Alternatives to imprisonment
• Group presentation

The module will culminate with a module graduation ceremony at HMP Lancaster Farm.
