Plan Your Day
What’s the difference between an Open Day and a Campus Tour?
It’s true that each university has its own atmosphere and ‘feel’ that you can’t experience through the pages of a prospectus or website.
On a Campus Tour, you’ll become more acquainted with our university campus, its facilities and grounds, led by a member of our current student body.
An Open Day immerses you in the university experience, dropping you into a bustling campus that’s buzzing with activities and events. You can meet with staff and students from your department to help you to build a picture of what it might be like to study here, and you’ll find that even grabbing lunch or a drink on campus will give you a feel for whether the University is right for you.
The Open Day also gives you the freedom to explore every part of our 560-acre site and find out as much as you can about Lancaster University, alongside people who may even become some of your closest friends during your studies here! It’s your opportunity to become inspired and excited about your Higher Education options.
Hopefully Lancaster is the place for you!
Do I need to register in advance?
Yes, students will need to register for a ticket to attend the Open Day, although guests accompanying students are not required to do so.
Please complete our pre-registration form and we will contact you when booking opens in March.
When will I be able to book on to the 2017 Open Days?
Bookings for our Open Days will open in March 2017, you can request an email reminder when booking opens by completing our pre-registration form.
How many guests can I bring with me?
You can bring as many guests as you would like on the Open Day, although please be prepared for a very busy day, there is so much to see and do! If the talks and presentations become too crowded, we may have to prioritise only students attending that particular talk.
I can’t make the dates advertised but I still wish to visit. How can I do this?
If you can’t make the Open Day dates, there are still plenty of ways to visit Lancaster University. See our Campus Tours page for more information.
