Getting here

Lancaster University is approximately three miles south of the City of Lancaster. We are very well connected to the UK's major cities and airports and are within easy travelling distance of Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds (1.5 hours).

By Car

Leave the M6 motorway at Junction 33 and take the A6 north towards Lancaster. For the University campus, turn right at the third set of traffic lights signposted Alexandra Park. Due to the volume of visitors expected to attend our Open Days, there can be traffic congestion both leaving the M6 and on the A6 towards campus. We recommend you allow extra time for journey to accommodate this and ensure you arrive on time for talks.

Parking on campus is free all day and our car park team will direct you to a parking space on your arrival. A free shuttle bus service will run from designated points throughout the day. Our student ambassadors can direct you to the nearest pickup point. Wheelchair accessible spaces are clearly marked across all car parking areas around campus. Make yourself known to our car park team who will direct you to the closest spaces.

By Rail

Lancaster sits on the West Coast Mainline, allowing for easy travel to London or Glasgow (2.5 hours) and even has direct trains from Manchester Airport (1.5 hours). A free shuttle bus will run from the exit of platform 3 at Lancaster Railway Station to the campus from 8am until 4:30pm. Please allow 40 minutes for your return journey to Lancaster Railway Station upon leaving the Open Day.
