What Will You Study
This course has been developed jointly by Lancaster Medical School and the Centre for Education, Training and Development (CETAD) – both are divisions within the Faculty of Health and Medicine. It is designed to meet the GMC’s Strategy that all those involved in the development and education of doctors should be competent in the principles of medical education. Whether you directly teach undergraduate student doctors or supervise specialist trainees, this course will help you to:
- Develop and consolidate your knowledge and understanding of core principles of medical education
- Enhance your skills as a medical educator
- Evidence your competence in line with the Academy of Medical Educator’s learning domains
Progression from a Postgraduate Certificate to a Postgraduate Diploma or MSc will enable you to develop further in specialist aspects of medical education pertinent to your own role and work context through a range of optional modules and the completion of work-based applied medical education projects.
