Our College is named after the region of Lancashire bordered on the north by the River Wyre and to the south by the River Ribble. The area is mainly agricultural with large nurseries producing tomatoes and lots of potatoes. The region does of course contain Blackpool renowned for it's Pleasure Beach and other seaside treats .

Fylde has chosen a windmill for it's emblem and ours in particular is a
sketch of the Thornton windmill at Marsh Mill. Fylde windmills all have a little drying
room at the side (it can be rather damp up here!) and the balcony is also a characteristic
feature. So now you know ! Fylde colours are 'old gold' and green (but the college scarf is a compromise of orange and black!?). Fylde scarves and ties and teddies are available in the Student Union Shop. Fylde Sweatshirts, Tee shirts and mugs are available from the College Office. |
The University is a very big place. Click here for a guided tour of the campus and to see where Fylde fits in.
