Manipal Academy of Higher Education

Lancaster University currently offer two 2+2 Programmes at MAHE in India. One in Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Karnataka, and the other in Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT), Majitar, Rangpo, Sikkim. Students on these programmes spend the first two years of their undergraduate studies in their home country at the designated university and then take the final two years here at Lancaster. The degree that is awarded is from Lancaster University.

To be admitted to Lancaster students need to have a good grade point average in the first two years of their courses in Manipal and have at least 60% in Standard 10 in English and an IELTS or TOEFL certificate might be required for visa purposes. They will also need to provide two academic references with their application.

At both MIT and SMIT the following areas of specialisation are offered leading to degrees awarded by Lancaster:

1. BEng Electronic Engineering
2. BEng Mechanical Engineering
3. BEng Mechatronic Engineering
4. BEng Computer Systems Engineering
5. BEng Electronic Communication Systems
6. BSc Communication and Computer Systems
7. BSc Information Technology and Media Communications

At MIT there is also a new 1+2 Programme in Biotechnology run through Manipal's Centre for Molecular & Cellular Biology leading to Lancaster University awards in the following areas:

1. BSc Biological Sciences
2. BSc Biochemistry
3. BSc Biochemistry with Biomedicine
4. BSc Cell Biology with Biomedicine
5. BSc Biological Sciences with Biomedicine
6. BSc Biomedical Science

There are also postgraduate opportunities in which case students would do either one or two years at MIT or SMIT depending on the degree subject above and then do three years at Lancaster to finish, for example, both their BEng and their MEng degree.

If students prefer to go onto specialise in a Business subject then there is also the opportunity to complete their undergraduate degree in one of the above subjects and then move to our 6* Management School for a further year to do a business-related subject, for example:

3. MSc Project Management
