White Lund Exploration Day - a special event at the Storey Institute and Lancaster City Museum

This special event complements the exhibition Boomtown - From Front Line to White Lund at Lancaster City Museum until 12 November. All in Good Taste - Regional Food in History and Archaeology

Food can seem to be one of the great levellers – we all need to eat, and eating with others is often thought to be a significant way of reinforcing social bonds. Yet food also acts as a marker of difference. For instance, there are at least 18 different words that are used around the UK for the miniature loaves of bread we know as barms (or rolls, or breadcakes…)  Read more.
