Maurice

Frank Denison Maurice (1805-1872). A member of The Apostles, a group of Cambridge undergraduates, Maurice was editor of the Athenaeum from its founding in 1828 until 1830. Ordained in 1834, he became Professor of English Literature at King's College, London. Maurice, together with Charles Kingsley, established the Christian Socialist Movement, and founded the Working Men's College in 1854.
