Anglo-Saxon Minuscule: Aspect

This is clearly a cursive script, if a tidy one. The letters are neatly but not elegantly formed. They keep quite evenly within the limits of head- and base-line.

However, they lean forward slightly,

and some letters join the following ones in a way that suggests speed of execution rather than the advanced graphic design of Insular Majuscule.

There are several ligatures, especially with s.

Aspect Ratio
Our test letters are taller than they are wide.

o is 1:·7. c is 1:·8. m is 1:1·15.

Ascenders and descenders
Ascenders are about the height of the body of the text: descenders tend to be longer than this.
