The Operational Research Society’s 60th Annual Conference will take place at Lancaster University from 11th – 13th September 2018.

When the University was established in 1964, Operational Research was one of Lancaster’s founding departments, and the first in the country. The first professor was Pat Rivett, President of the OR Society at the time of his appointment. It is therefore particularly significant that the conference returns to Lancaster to celebrate the Diamond anniversary.

The conference plenary speakersare:

Anna Nagurney: John F. Smith Memorial Professor, Isenberg School of Management Department of Operations and Information Management, University of Massachusetts Amherst

Peter Checkland: Emeritus Professor of Systems, Lancaster University anddeveloper of Soft Systems Methodology

John Hopes: EY’s Global Head of Business Modelling and OR Society President

There are a wide-ranging list ofstreams being organised, many by Lancaster staff.
