Free public philosophy talks. Prof Rachel Cooper on 'Hard emotions or disorder?' and Dr Sam Clark on 'What is it for someone's life to go well for her?'

11.00-11.40 Prof Rachel Cooper 'Hard emotions or disorder?'

Many people feel very sad, or angry, or anxious. How can we distinguish normal 'hard' emotions from those that should be considered symptomatic of mental disorder? The talk will last about 20mins to be followed by 20mins Q&A.

11.50-12.30 Dr Sam Clark 'What is it for someone's life to go well for her?'

Your life can go more or less well for you, and this matters. But what exactly is this value? Is it only to do with how you feel 'from inside', or can you be mistaken about how well your life is going? The talk will last about 20mins to be followed by 20mins Q&A.
