Laura Hughes-GerberLecturer in Law (Human Rights)
Laura Hughes-Gerber's research interests focus on the areas of Public International Law and International Human Rights Law. She is currently completing her doctoral research in the area of Diplomatic Law, specifically on the issue of diplomatic asylum under international law. Laura has a strong interest in pursuing her research into abuse of the diplomatic premises and possible sanctions for such abuse. She also maintains a research interest in both Comparative Law and European Union Law, the latter particularly in its interface with Public International Law.
Laura Hughes-Gerber is a Lecturer in Law at Lancaster University and previously worked at Cologne University, Germany. She holds an LL.B. in Law with German Law and Language from the University of Hull and an LL.M. in German and International Law from the University of Cologne. Laura is currently completing her PhD on the question of diplomatic asylum under international law at the University of Cologne.
Laura is passionate about mooting and has experience of successfully participating in, coaching and judging international student moot court competitions, in particular the Telders International Law Moot Court in The Hague, Netherlands.
