Lucy Hutchinson

Faculty Placements Officer

Profile

Lucy has lead responsibility for employability within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, developing and delivering specialised and bespoke projects to enhance careers education through in-curricular and extra-curricular provision. This includes providing input and guidance on long term strategy, vision setting and operational support around employability and student experience.

The Placements Team co-ordinate and deliver a programme of events and with industry experts, alumni and graduate employers to support learning and engagement opportunities. We also run the FASS Internship scheme, in partnership with local and national organisations to provide students with paid work experience where organisations couldn't otherwise fund this type of opportunity internally.

The Placements Officer works collaboratively with academic and professional services, and co-delivers the following modules; FASS150, LING235, HIST299, ENGL329, SOCL361 and CRIM305.

Students can also book 1:1 appointments through TARGETconnect, to enquire about the Placement Year, Work-Based Learning, and Internship opportunities within the faculty.
