Research Interests

I am a medievalist specializing in lordship and power structures in the north of England. After completing my undergraduate degree here at Lancaster, I undertook an MA in Museum Studies at Newcastle before returning to Lancaster to undertake a PhD examining political society in the medieval honour of Pontefract. I have since worked on a number of research projects that have been focused on local and regional history, with particular emphasis on encouraging public engagement with history and heritage.
