Faculty Engagement Team

Our team have professional qualifications in careers and teaching, experience in academic design, delivery, and assessment of careers and employability education and work-related learning.

Professional memberships include the Association for Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS), the Career Development Institute (CDI), the Higher Education Academy (HEA), and ASET, the Work-Based Learning and Placement Learning Association.

Some staff have an additional specialism to improve our service to students through teaching, guidance and mock interviews. These include:

Your Careers Faculty Partner is the first point of contact for the development and progression of any faculty-based activities in careers, employability, and placements for your students.

We can help you with:

 Mapping and planning careers, employability, and work-based learning provision across your faculty.

Contibuting to teaching committees on careers, enployability and work-based learning provision across the faculty.

Developing new initiatives with employers, staff and students to improve destinations of your graduates and postgraduates, and to enhance their experience whilst studying here at Lancaster.

Designing and delivering careers and employability training for your staff, and as part of your Faculty PhD Research Training Programme.

Our offer to departmental staff

Each Careers Consultant will meet with the Head of Department and Academic Employability Champions ahead of the forthcoming academic year to plan careers, employability and work-based learning provision.

We offer you:

An in-depth analysis of your department's graduate destination results.

An insight into the career-readiness of your students, based on the careers questions asked at every year during registration.

Information on the specific employers, jobs, and postgraduate study opportunities secured by your students after graduation. 

Graduate labour market information that's relevant to your students.

Support and training to any departmental staff engaged in the design and delivery of careers and employability teaching, and placement information.
