Summer Seminar: Telling tales with fabric: an autoethnographic encounter with grief, memory and time

This year’s summer seminar will occur on the 25th May 4-6pm, and will feature speaker Prof. Clare Holdsworth, a professor of Social Geography at Keele University, discussing the topic: Telling tales with fabric: an autoethnographic encounter with grief, memory and time. In telling tales with fabric social geographer and fabric artist Clare Holdsworth presents a unique approach to making autoethnography to stitch together a nexus of memory, emotion, intimacy and responsibility. Through unpicking how she has  developed her own sewing practice as a medium for crafting grief, she examines how making is realised both through the time of making and the emotional attachment with the things that are made.

This event will be in person only.
