It includes presentations, workshops, and roundtable discussions with academics and practitioners. Themes include &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; methods for studying &#8216;new&#8217; and &#8216;old&#8217; media<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; how transport academics could or should engage with the media<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; media coverage of controversial transport topics including debates over road-building and rail safety<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; how (and if) media coverage can lead to policy change<\/p>\n<p>The symposium starts with lunch on Monday 9th June (12-7pm) and continues on Tuesday 10th (9:30-12:30). It will be held at Lancaster University&#8217;s Conference Centre and is organised by CeMoRe in collaboration with Westminster University.<\/p>\n<p>There will be a self-funded evening meal at The Borough, Dalton Square, Lancaster on 9th June &#8211; a menu and details of how to pay will be sent to all registrants.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This interdisciplinary symposium explores relationships between transport policy and practice, academic research, and the media.
