{"id":9280,"date":"2022-10-24T12:50:00","date_gmt":"2022-10-24T11:50:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/cemore\/?p=9280"},"modified":"2022-10-24T12:50:04","modified_gmt":"2022-10-24T11:50:04","slug":"dr-satya-savitzky-1980-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/cemore\/dr-satya-savitzky-1980-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr. Satya Savitzky 1980-2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are very sorry to announce that Dr Satya Satvizky \u2013 an active member of CeMoRe for many years &#8211; passed away last month.\u00a0\u00a0He was working at the Marine Governance group at the interdisciplinary Helmholtz Institute for Functional Marine Biodiversity (HIFMB) in Oldenburg, Germany, where he held the post of postdoctoral Research Scientist.\u00a0With our colleagues there, we remember him with great fondness and respect.\u00a0While at Lancaster\u00a0Satya\u00a0was a shining star in the Centre for Mobilities Research. His prescient work on maritime mobilities in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.research.lancs.ac.uk\/portal\/en\/publications\/icy-futures(2d931174-0000-4309-9827-bdeb4f6c21d8).html\"><strong>Icy futures: carving the northern sea route<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and later\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.research.lancs.ac.uk\/portal\/en\/publications\/cargomobilities(de81fbe1-af65-4ed8-a377-bf2013b6fbdc).html\"><strong>Cargomobilities: moving materials in a global age<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is inspiring and increasingly relevant.
