7 October 2019
As much as we love offering opportunities from our base here in Lancaster, sometimes it's even more special when we can have spectacular events at our teaching sites, in Blackpool and in Carlisle.

This time we had the privilige of hosting a performance group from Beijing Normal University (BNU) as part of their tour through a number of UK Confucius Institutes. On the evening of the 3rd October, Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery hosted the group of 24 performers for an beautiful evening of skillfully performed music, dance, and martial arts, with guests including members of staff from Lancaster University Confucius Institute, and the Mayor of Carlisle.

Anna Smalley, Head of Collections & Engagement at Tullie House, took the time to give her heartfelt thanks to the troupe for their visit:

“The performance from students from Beijing Normal University was absolutely outstanding. We felt incredibly privileged to have such talented musicians, dancers and martial artists perform in Carlisle. The audience of all ages was absolutely spellbound from start to finish. Our partnership with the Lancaster University Confucius Institute made this performance happen, and we are so grateful to them for this opportunity.”

It's our pleasure Anna!

We are constantly on the look out to provide events and opportunities like this performance, both here in Lancaster and at our teaching sites, so please keep an eye out on our Community Events Calendar for upcoming activities where you are!
