\"\"The CUIDAR Project has ethical approval from the Lancaster University Research Ethics Committee and each partner country has approval from their local Research Ethics Committee. Ethical approval processes are designed to be stringent but supportive of both people participating in a project and the research teams conducting the project. Ethical practice and policy is integral to \"\"<\/a>the running of the project and managed within a separate Work Package (WP8). EC ethics reviewers regularly monitor CUIDAR project activities.<\/p>\n

To ensure ethical compliance and to address specific ethical issues that arise during the project an independent CUIDAR Project Ethics Board has convened for the duration of the project. The Board oversees ethical processes and in response to EC Reviewer requirements has developed two ethics policies:<\/p>\n

  2. \u00a0CUIDAR Social Media and Visual Ethics Policy<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \"\"<\/a>There are four key areas of ethical processes and practices that we follow:<\/p>\n

    1. Accessible, clear information for children, their parent(s) \/ carer(s) and other organisations involved in the workshops.
    \n2. Accessible consent forms for a) taking part in the project and also b) a separate form for permitting visual images to be recorded and c) a media release form that acknowledges people know their rights about their recorded images.
    \n3.\u00a0A clear data protection process that includes addressing the new     General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)<\/a> requirements (due to come into force on 25th<\/sup> May 2018).
    \n4. Policy and practice that aims to protect children and adults participating in the project including clear guidelines for safeguarding children.<\/p>\n
