Tajinder Hayer has written extensively for the stage – highlights include: In This House performed at by the Menagerie Theatre Company at The Junction, Cambridge; Passengers, performed by Peshkar Productions at the Oldham Coliseum Theatre, 2008); and Mela performed at the West Yorkshire Playhouse. John Schad has adapted two of his own books for the stage with professional performances at the Oxford Playhouse, the Duke’s Theatre Lancaster, the Sheldonian Theatre Oxford, and Watford Palace Theatre
Tajinder Hayer's film Islands (2013) was selected for the inaugural film Raro challenge, the Hawaii International Film Festival 2013, Okseo Film Festival 2014, Isle of Man Film Festival 2014, Festival Icaro 2014, Zanzibar International Film Festival 2015, Filmfest Weiterstadt 2015 and PBS Online Film Festival 2014.
Paul Farley is a significant figure as a poet who seeks to maximise the medium of radio. Paul has his own weekly poetry series on Radio 4, The Echo Chamber, as well as contributing to a range of other programmes on television and radio and writing scripts for radio performance. Michelene Wandor and Sara Maitland have also written both plays and dramatic adaptations for BBC Radio 3 and 4, and Tajinder Hayer’s radio play Ask Mina is to be broadcast on the BBC Asian Network in 2016.
