Founded by the Duke of York in 2014, Pitch@Palace aims to support and connect entrepreneurs and early-stage businesses with potential supporters including CEOs, influencers, panels, mentors and business partners. There will be three regional events across the country and winners from each will be invited to a bootcamp, with the final taking place in November.

Santander Entrepreneurship Awards – Deadline Approaching!

Deadline: Noon, Monday 24th April

Hopefully many of you have been working hard on your Santander Entrepreneurship Awards Applications. This post is just a quick reminder with regards to what to submit, how to submit and the judging criteria. In addition, please could you let us know via email if you are planning to submit an entry and in which category, so that we have an idea of numbers before the actual deadline. 

To enter, you will need to produce both a two minute video pitch and a completed business model canvas (Download Template).

In your video the judges will be looking for:

  • A clear explanation of your business, its purpose and an understanding of the problem that it solves for customers.
  • An understanding of where your business or idea came from.
  • Evidence of how winning the competition would help you grow your business.

A few tools to help you perfect your entry:

  • Simon Sinek – Starting with Why? may help you to better articulate the rationale behind your idea.
  • You can access the Business Model Generation: a handbook for visionaries, game changers, and challengers (Osterwalder & Pigneur, 2010) online through OneSearch.

Please email your completed canvases and videos to enterpriseteam@lancaster.ac.uk by noon, Monday the 24th of April. In your email please state which category you are entering in – Pre-revenue or Post-revenue.

Opportunity to win £10,000 from a 60 second pitch!

The Varsity Pitch Competition is on the hunt for the best student and graduate businesses. The competition takes place in three stages including an online People’s Vote with Lloyds Banking Group, a bootcamp with an impressive lineup of mentors and a grand final.

Not only is this an opportunity to win a prize of £10,000 and other priceless opportunities, it is also the perfect chance to get your business or idea noticed by some of the biggest companies in the UK.

The competition is open to any current students at a UK university or college, or anyone who has graduated in the UK after 2011.

£10,000 pitch opportunity with F Factor

Tech Savvy Entrepreneurs- pitch opportunity with Talk Talk and Founders Forum

Are you a tech minded entrepreneur, aged 14 to 25? Have you got an innovative idea for an app, a game, or a technology business?

Founders Forum are working with Talk Talk to offer 10 young entrepreneurs the chance to win £10,000. There’s no need to write a business plan or have an existing business model, and experience isn’t necessary- all you have to do is create and submit a 30 second video and your idea in 140 characters. Finalists will have the opportunity to present their ideas to a gathering of tech entrepreneurs in London and network with venture capitalists and business founders on 18th June 2015.

Entries must be submitted to ‘F Factor’ by midnight on 5th May 2015.
