Insight into Sales, Marketing & Business Start up

Advice from an experienced LUMS Advertising and Marketing graduate

Chris Walthew graduated from Lancaster University in 1999, with a degree in Advertising and Marketing. He moved to London, worked for a couple of marketing agencies, then moved into sales working for an early cloud software start up where he became sales manager. At the age of 25 he set up a telemarketing company, Prospect Research, which now employs 20 staff.

His latest venture is a climbing centre – Clip ‘n Climb Cambridge – which he describes as “climbing walls meet theme park”. A very different start up to Prospect Research particularly with the scale and investment involved from the beginning and dealing with b2c rather that b2b. 

In this session Chris will talk about his experiences in business and also give some tips on what you can do now as a student, if you are interested in setting up your own business now or in the future.
