The UK Comics Laureate is coming to town! Get ready for a great evening.

Hannah Berry is our new UK Comics Laureate and a guest of Lancaster University's Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences talk series. Hannah will visit us all the way from Brighton to talk about all sorts of exciting things including her comics and graphic novels journeys, women in illustration and art, her role as comics ambassador, and her gripping graphic narratives that show mastery in both suspense storytelling and art. Come along and greet Hannah Berry in conversation with Lancaster University FASS staff and graphic novels and comics hub ReOPeN Directors Dr Natasa Lackovic (Educational Research) and Dr Andy Tate (English and Creative Writing). The talk includes gems related to Hannah's books including Adamtine (2012), a mystery noir thriller and Livestock (2017), a futuristic socio-political satire.

We will also pick Hannah's brains about the role of graphic novels and graphic art in education, public life and communication. This talk will be of interest to a wide audience and is open to all. Please book a free ticket as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Livestock review comment by Paul Mason: "Uneducated, pliant, easy to control - that's how our rulers want us. But in Hannah Berry's dark tale of celebrity and corporate greed, the people have other ideas. A parable for the Trump era."

Adamtine Review comment excerpt: "....the story would have not been so strong had it been told with text only; it would have lost much subtlety. This really should appeal to anyone who relishes the odd, the unexplained, and a search for clues, and not only to people who are used to reading graphic novels."
