Lancaster University academics share their passion and research at Lancaster City Museum

We are very pleased to announce a new partnership with the Friends of Lancaster City Museum! Our staff has been invited to share their passion and research during talk staking place at the Museum at 1pm on Fridays.

The idea of ‘escaping’ through books, film and tv is extremely well known. Fantasy literature and media offer amazing opportunities for even further escapism – into lands of magic, time travel and innovations that exceed our wildest dreams. Fantasy offers a safe space in which we can process emotions and difficult situations – the landscapes are different enough to create distance, but the plots and characters can reflect ‘real world’ situations. In this talk, Dr Anna Mackenzie will look at some ways that fantasy literature and media can positively impact mental health and wellbeing.

The talk will be held at the Museum's Education Room, with access from New Street, Lancaster. Attendance is free, but booking is essential. To reserve your seat, either call into the museum or phone 0152464637
