Library Refurbishment Project
Originally constructed in 1967, the Library at Lancaster University has been continuously improved undergoing various extensions and refurbishments.
Due to the huge success of the 2015 renovation of the East and West buildings, along with the achievement of the BREEAM Excellent award, the Library became a popular study space for all to use.
In late 2017, following staff and student feedback on the first phase of the remodelling project, a second phase of refurbishments began. Works commenced in the Library around the special collections area and reading room to transform the space into practical study areas for students. 44 additional power and Wi-Fi enabled spaces were created further to 96 workspaces that had previously been installed during the Summer period.
