The works along the South Spine have progressed ahead of schedule along Fylde and the Science and Technology building. The steel supports are being installed and the contractors are now preparing for the next phase of works.

From 4pm Wednesday 13th June to 6pm Monday 18th June, the South Spine will be closed between Science and Technology and the Management School during peak hours. To mitigate the impact as much as possible, the pathway will be opened up each evening to provide an accessible through-route between 8pm and 7:30am.

The diverted route will be through the Science and Technology building, following the current accessible route diversion to Fylde Quad. Access to the Engineering building will be via both the Fylde Quad and via the perimeter road, Southwest Drive.

Details of which can be found on the following diversion map: Science and Technology peak hours diversion map.

The work in this area signals the final stages of the Spine Remodelling Project, which aim to complete by the start of Michaelmas Term.
