Cycle track improvements are on the way

Improvement works are to be carried out between Monday 11th and Friday 15th January to make visibility better between road users and cyclists when crossing Bailrigg Lane.

The works are set to commence from 8am on Monday 11th January when contractors will start to clear sections of the existing hedgerow, to allow for the cycle track entrance to the Health Innovation Campus to be widened, allowing approaching road users to see cyclings more easily.

During the works, the campus side of the junction on Bailrigg Lane will be closed for around one week. This closure will not affect raod users but will mean that cyclists and pedestrians that wish to access the Health Innovation One building will need to do so by following the diverted cycle route on to North West Campus. Diversions are clearly signposted.

Subscribers to the cycle list via Facilities Communications have been notified of the works via email. If you wish to be added to the list, you can email facilities.cycling@lancaster.ac.uk to request to be added to the updates. You can also join the cycling forum on teams where cyclists can share advice and ask questions to the local cycling community.
