Lancaster University declared a Climate Emergency in November 2020 and announced our aim to become carbon neutral by 2035. Specifically, the University aims to become carbon neutral in energy emissions by 2030.

To help meet this target, plans are being drawn up for a solar photo-voltaic (PV) farm that could significantly reduce Bailrigg campus’ carbon emissions.

An online consultation on proposals for the solar PV farm is now open until Wednesday 4th August. Input from staff, students and local residents will help shape the formal planning application to Lancashire County Council.

Find full information about the proposals, then share your feedback at www.lancaster.ac.uk/facilities/estates/solar-farm
