Languages NoW!Date: 18 December 2007 Time: 10.00 am-2.30 pm North West University Language Alliance (NWULA) Languages NoW! Tuesday, 18th December 2007 Lancaster University Languages NoW! is designed to encourage year 9 pupils to consider languages when choosing their options. The day will illustrate the advantages of studying foreign languages, including looking at career prospects and the personal benefits of language learning. During the event students will attend one seminar entitled "Why Study Languages" and two workshop sessions. The pupils will all get a chance to participate in a language taster and a native speaker question and answer session. This event is free of charge. We hope that Languages NoW! will become a regular feature twice a year; the December event for year 9 pupils and a July event for year 8 pupils. Each event will be hosted by a different university within this regional network. Provisional programme
