The Poetics of Politics, the Politics of Poetry: Utopia and CreationDate: 21 November 2007 Time: 4.00 pm DELC Research Seminar, Ben Bollig (Leeds University), 'The Poetics of Policy, the Politics of Poetry: Utopia and Creation', Institute for Advanced Studies Meeting Room 2. All welcome. Dr. Ben Bollig is lecturer in Spanish American Studies at the University of Leeds. He works on poetry and poetics of the Southern Cone, in particular the relationship between poetic experiment and political practice. In this talk he examines notions of creation and utopia in the context of contemporary debates over the relationship between poetry and politics, and explores a series of examples of this relationship from the Spanish-speaking world.
