Languages and Culture Day

The purpose of thisLanguages and Cultures Dayis to inspire year 8 and 9 pupils from local schools tocarry on learninglanguages to a higher level. The one off event has the following aims:
·The event should give pupils the opportunity to use the language skills they have learnt whilst at school, whilst also introducing them to languages they have not experienced.
·The pupils will get the opportunity to meet Lancaster University languages students whilst visiting . They will act as ambassadors for their subject and encourage pupils to consider languages as a worthwhile and useful subject to study at a higher level.
· As well as focusing on language skillspupils will be ableto explore elements of the culture relating to the languages.
