Cornelia Graebner (DELC) gains award for Latin American event

Cornelia Graebner was awarded GBP 370 by the Society for Latin American Studies, for theevent 'Media, Community and Activism: The Zapatistas and the other campaign' to be held on 3rd May. The event is organized by the Latin America Research Cluster (LARC) at Lancaster University in collaboration with the Duke's Cinema, which hosts the event. It includes a screening of Nicolas Défossé's recent documentary ¡Viva Mexico! and a Q&A session; an introductory lecture on 'Media activism and grassroots mobilization: The Zapatistas' by Cornelia Graebner from LU; and the exhibition La otra mirada by Indymedia Chiapas, presented by photographer Adolfo López. Screening and lecture are followed by a round-table debate including Défossé, López, researchers from Lancaster University, and representatives of local media.
