your puppy.
Dogs come in all shapes, sizes and colours. They all need loving homes. If you want to keep a pet you must ask your family. Look at some library books about dogs. Don't forget there are many unwanted dogs you could choose one from a <reg>dog's</reg> home. Think about the size of your house and Garden <reg>before</reg> you choose a dog. Make sure someone <NOTE_LAN desc="word/s missing?"> at home to look after the puppy. When you bring your puppy home it will be <reg>lonely</reg>. During <reg>its</reg> first night alone it may cry. <S>your puppy must have its own special bed. Always keep it in the same place. A ticking clock will remind the puppy of its Mum's heartbeat. A puppy is like a baby. It needs looking after very carefully. Just like babies, puppies have accidents! <S>your puppy must have its own bowls. When puppies are little they need lots of small meals. <S>take your puppy outside after it has eaten. It will soon learn to go to the toilet <sic>out side</sic>. <S>you must brush your poppy every day. After you have <sic>touch</reg> your puppy you should always wash your hands. Don't let your puppy lick your face. <reg>Puppies</reg> love to play but they also need a lot of sleep. <S>your puppy must have its own toys. <S>you must take your puppy to the vet for its injections: These will stop your puppy from getting ill. <S>your puppy must have its own collar and lead. <S>put a disc on the collar with your address and telephone number. When your

puppy grows into a dog it will need longer walks. <S>you must train your dog. Teach it to sit stay and come when you call its name. <S>your family may not have the time or money to look after a dog. <S>you could help look after a <reg>neighbour's</reg> dog at the weekends instead.
