<reg>U.F.O.s</reg>: Fact or Fiction
people have always thought that <reg>U.F.Os</reg> are real. The most number of the reports have been great balls of light. <S>but there have been many explanations like <reg>meteoroids</reg> or asteroids. <S>the letters U.F.O. <sic>stands</sic> for unidentified flying object. In 1976 in September Two <reg>Iran</reg> fighters saw a U.F.O. when they got close the radio Jammed and the U.F.O. fired a <reg>missile</reg> at one of them.

a U.F.O. sighting by <gap desc="name">
In 1980 I was working on a night shift at Lancaster Police Station. About 1am we had several calls from people who had seen a strange, fast <reg>moving</reg> light, over Morecambe Bay.
I was sent, along with another Policeman, to the ramparts of Lancaster Castle, from where, we would have a good view over the bay.
When we arrived at the castle I could see this strange light, hovering, over Morecambe Bay. It was green and red in colour and whenever it <reg>moved</reg> it left an orange trail behind it. It appeared to be hovering over Morecambe itself, this was confirmed by Policeman at Morecambe, over the radio, who said it was just about over the Police Station around 200 foot high.
The 'object' remained stationary for about 20 <reg>minutes</reg>, then it moved

over towards Blackpool, at incredible speed, and in a perfectly straight line. Straight away it returned to hover again over Morecambe for a further 10 <reg>minutes</reg>.
The object then rose straight up into the night sky and within a few seconds it was gone.
We contacted both civil and military <reg>aviation</reg> authorities and both confirmed they had no aircraft in that area at the time of the sighting.
I have seen all types of aircraft but I have never seen anything <reg>move</reg> as quick as this object.
It was never established what the object was.
