THE LFC BADGE.

The bird on the logo is an imaginary bird called the <sic>the</sic> Liver Bird it is a cross between an eagle and a cormorant. Ever since Liverpool was granted city <reg>status</reg> by King John it has been used as a seal from then on it has been the traditional symbol of the city of Liverpool and become the <reg>centre</reg> of L.F.C.’s badge.

The <reg>club’s</reg> <reg>famous</reg> theme song You’ll Never Walk Alone comes from the musical by Rogers and <reg>Hammerstein</reg> and was made <reg>famous</reg> by the group Gerry and the Pacemakers.

The two flames at either side of the logo are symbolic of the Hillsborough memorial, an eternal flame is in <sic>an</sic> special glass case beside the Shankly gates in memory of those who died in the disaster.

How the Team Started.

Liverpool FC was formed in 1892 because Everton FC left Anfield for a new stadium. John Hulding the Anfield owner decided to set up a new team for Anfield, his friend helped him decide & supported him well. Hulding didn’t have any idea of where to find players, but the manager he had selected chose 11 <reg>scottish</reg> players for the first team they then played their 1st <reg>match</reg> on the 3rd of september 1892. One season later they were promoted to the 2nd <reg>division</reg> then to the 1st after another season.
