The project is contained in a black plastic ringbinder, with a ‘woven effect’ textured surface; it is in good condition and looks new. Inside the binder, pages consist mostly of lined, white A4 paper; two different kinds of lined paper appear to have been used, one with a fine margin, the other with a thicker margin (the thicker margin looks as if it has been ruled in pencil, but this is not actually the case). There are coloured card dividers between the main sections, and the title pages of subsections are on plain white paper. The pages are single sided, holepunched, not in plastic sleeves, but they are generally smooth and clean; the project is neatly presented and appears to have been carefully handled.
Most of the writing is in black felt tip (medium thickness) as are crossings out and page numbers. Writing and underlining on section dividers is in pencil, and felt tip is used on some pages (in a variety of alternating colours); biro is used for one page and another has been wordprocessed and printed using a colour printer. Lines have been ruled for guidance in writing (titles, section headings). One correction has been made by cutting out a small piece of lined paper and sticking it carefully over the mistake. Drawings are drafted lightly in pencil and outlined in black felt tip. Erased lines indicate alterations to words and drawings in earlier drafts; there is a little smudging in a few places.
The project contains some imported materials: small ‘tarot’ cards, stuck to the paper with bluetack, and computer printouts from the internet (a colour printer has been used) inserted loosely, through holes punched in the side (some of the printouts are on the back of scrap paper, which looks as if it comes from the university).

The cover page has been formed by sticking a plain white sheet of A4 paper with glue around the edges, to secure it firmly to the plastic surface. Stars are drafted in pencil, visible beneath the silver and gold felt tip. The title words are drafted in pencil, coloured in alternating pink and purple felt tip, and outlined in black felt tip. ‘By…..’ is in ink pen (fountain or cartridge). The other words are in either black or gold felt tip.

The working surface is a yellow card divider; writing in pencil. Erased lines beneath the word ‘introduction’ show earlier draft and there is a fine, light, partially ruled line, under the word, for guidance.

(As page 3) The writing is in felt tip. Letters of title are in alternating purple, yellow, pink and mauve; numbers and words in list are in alternating mauve, pink, yellow and purple. The paler colours may not be clear on the scan.

Words are outlined in pencil and coloured in alternating purple and yellow felt tip. Tiny pencil markings at side of page indicate care taken in ruling lines used for guidance in writing; pencil lines visible beneath drawing indicate careful drafting of words and drawing.

Words are outlined in pencil and coloured in alternating turquoise and brown felt tip. Ruled pencil lines, and faint lines visible beneath the drawing, indicate careful drafting of words and drawing (in particular, there were several attempts at the bull’s left hoof, and left hind leg has been repositioned).

Words are outlined in pencil (erased lines indicate alteration to outline of second ‘2’ in ‘22’) and coloured in with red felt tip, using a variety of different kinds of strokes to create different patterns. Ruled pencil lines, and faint lines visible beneath the drawing, indicate careful drafting of words and drawing (in particular, note the two attempts to rule the centre line at the bottom).

Words are outlined in pencil (erased lines above the letter ‘c’ in ‘scales’ indicate alteration) and coloured in and outlined again in turquoise and mauve felt tip. Ruled pencil lines, and faint lines visible beneath the drawing, indicate careful drafting of words and drawing. Notice how the number 24 appears to have been squashed into the available space.

Words are outlined in pencil and coloured in yellow and turquoise felt tip. Ruled pencil lines, and faint lines visible beneath the drawing, indicate careful drafting of words and drawing. There are erased pencil lines providing evidence of alteration to the position of the bow and arrow, also, lines in felt tip do not always follow the draft exactly (eg left knee cap and muscle of right leg). Notice how the letter ‘m’ in ‘November’ seems to be squashed into the available space.

Words are outlined in pencil (notice use of ruler for letter ‘A’, and earlier unruled version still visible down its right side) and coloured in pink and purple felt tip. Ruled pencil lines, and faint lines visible beneath the drawing, indicate careful drafting of words and drawing.

Words are outlined in pencil and coloured in green felt tip. There has been some attempt to erase the lines ruled for guidance in writing (unlike previous pages) but they are still visible; there is some smudging around the letters ‘F’ and ‘b’ in ‘February’. Faint lines visible beneath the drawing indicate careful drafting; pencil is used for creating detail on the back of the fish.

The writing is in a variety of felt tips: green, mauve, pink, yellow, blue.(The yellow may not be visible on the scan). A correction has been made by cutting out a small piece of lined paper and sticking it carefully over the mistake (at the end of the last line); the word ‘with’ is faintly visible in felt tip beneath the paper (from the reverse side it is very clear).
