Release of an Initial Version of the Corpus


An initial version of the corpus has been released (28th March 2003).

It is now available to researchers on request, on CD-ROM or via email. To request a copy, email Andrew Hardie.

The initial version of the corpus consists of 500,000 words of newsbook text (from an ultimate 800,000 words of text in the final release version). It has been released so that we may benefit from the feedback of the research community prior to the final release of the corpus towards the end of this year.
