                                                                      - falls between . renaissance
                                                                      Curious rudely cut -late - but fine leaf
                                                                      capital like Doges palace on a banded
                                                                        shaft. fragment of Aquileia-
                                                                        renaissance staircase . and finally
                                                                      round arch with fragment of [?] figures
                                                                      set in a leafy scroll - unlike anything
                                                                         else in Venice except archivolts of St
                                                                      Marks.

                                                                      Then on facade - Tintorets house a good ^
                                                                      late door with pure pils of the exact later
                                                                      No 46. pattern with 3 brackets -
                                                                       - cut away: and a plinth with same
                                                                      utterly vile lions heads for brackets as the
                                                                      front - put in above.
                                                                      [Turks?] & scymitars & all manner of
                                                                      vagaries - I think turbans sometimes set
                                                                         on sailor figures - now all painted black
                                                                      and red.
