                                                                      are very fine in invention: and singularly
                                                                      picturesque. having had (glass?) eyes, a
                                                                      white pupil surrounded with black [ins?]
                                                                      like Orcagna demons. inserted into the
                                                                      hollow of the sculpture. The carved eye
                                                                      is in proportion to the head - the inserted
                                                                      one small and vivid and full of extraordinary
