(Plans for Monday D.V.) Finish noting Romanesque house past
Foscari: then just beyond: the small daguerreotyped house
- having windows of 4th with a2 sec: then the most important
small house at St Pantalone: and palace by do. Then to St
Giobbe, whose most interesting cloister has an arcade on one side
only, of round arches with the singular section opposite
which I shall call a4. I have hitherto passed over many
ancient round arches of this section, thinking them restored.
Compare the rebated form of Casa Vittura. Palace book p 7
- between St Giotto and the Manfrini, the form horseshoe
windows.
Palazzo Zorzi. I can as yet find no account of it. It is on the
canal behind the Palazzo Priuli: the most splendid deep
red alabaster set in its window spandrils - along the main
tier daguerreotyped - the marble is left in only one of the
detatched windows on the right - there it is the most
vivid verd antique The shafts of the main story are
curious for the Long capitals of the two next side, &
and those with the short capitals of white marble short in centre The shafts with the long capitals are
of Verona marble x so likewise all the bases: between
the joint a and joint b of fig 1 p 11 Palace book
these bases being set on a high octagonal white
marble pedestal, the height of the old balcony, as usual
