d - e (fig 6) 2 it is curious that the contraction on the narrow side of
e - f (a f - g) (fig 6) 2½ the parallelogram is entirely in the upper foil of the
Recess of abacus - c- h 2½ trefoil: the lower sweep of the cusp being exactly the
same on all the four sides: as by measures opposite.
LINE (when a c represents the line at first root of cusp; springing

above the inner basic line of the plinth of the shaft at
[diagram] the ground or f in fig 4.) The depth of cusp is even
apparently larger in the smaller arch, but is in all propab.

The recumbent fig is finer, though heavy in features; the sword
on the breast and between the limbs: The drapery of the
couch has been painted with a rich arabesque: the leaves of
the arabesque I have drawn have been all gilt and painted with
