Foliation. (It may be useful to note a little Madonna in a corner

A little beyond the gardens at the Fondamenta St Anna,
there are four low windows, of section & curve D Da
with three circles between: that on the left six bricks
about a rose very rich - on it two busts, in centre, a flat
A sun, about I H S like something in London, evidently later
work: (Gutter above dogtoothed and bracketed with bracket
D.c.) and capitals as 2 opposite.
Lombard arch. Just beyond this house, on same side, at Ponte St
Gioachino is a Lombard brick arch: as opposite. To
construct it, make a b = 1 ft " 2 in: from b: to
opposite side, same point. 5 " 7 strike semicircle on the
base 5 " 7 and the outer on base 7 " 11: then divide
in the proportion marked, and of the voussoir bricks, x let
there be 66 round the arch: and of bent bricks y 22 and
about three diamonds to each, or one to each voussoir
Section at a2 b2 Either it has been restored, or has had
plain stone jambs.
