                                                                      Composition	 these figures sculptures, as in the one drawn, behind the cross, 
                                                                      		(How exquisite the feeling of this touch of light:  like Turner’s
                                                                      		between the two stones in the Goldano) while the angle or
                                                                      		rather second order capitals, as well as those of the vaulting
                                                                      		shafts above, are of the block form a and b opp.  an
                                                                      		exquisite concavo convex arrangement of curve: characteristic
                                                                      		of the entire church, though in one or two cases half concealed
                                                                      		by decoration or modified by the cutting of the upper part into
                                                                      		rude ionic scrolls &c:  often a narrow tile abacus occurs, 
                                                                      		exquisitely decorated with irregular stars - roses, or twig heads, 
                                                                      		of unequal size and distance:  At page 33l N. is given
                                                                      		the placing of the two orders and intermediate shaft in the
                                                                      		doorway jamb of the outer gate of cortile; the section
                                                                      		showing the oblique setting of the beautiful capital head.
                                                                      Projecting Houses. Erasmus ascribed the frequent plagues of England
                                                                      		to the "dirty and slovenly habits of the inhabitants. and
                                                                      		to their "wooden houses that projected forward as they rose
                                                                      		in height, keeping out the sunshine and air from the street
                                                                      		beneath  Spectator.
