TOMBS
at C. down to the point is the section of flower plinths
round upper and lower arch and round sarcophagus; and
below; of sarcophagus paved with gabled dentil
The lions heads which carry sarcophagus bracket are the
fine type of Dog palace vulgarized by a bad workman.
They have the bristly ear, but are withered and door
knockered E.G. book is section of niche. But the
figures - especially the central bas relief are vile
throughout, and above the lions or under Niches i.e.
at d No 23 (holding doors not unlike Dog palace): there is
the late bracket moulding, an important feature. The
Sarcophagus small shaft capitals are like Steno’s. The
whole thing is late - worked by a bad workman from earlier
types.
The red spaces between arches are rudely painted.
The crockets above are detached spaces of stone barred
and cemented on to plain archivolt and {utterly} vile in
cutting. Those of the niches, each one small leaf with an
outer rib on the angle of hexagonal pyramid.
