                                                                      		(vid p 26) for observe, we have here a pure Venetian plan.
                                                                      		the gable between two octagonal pinnacles, supported by
                                                                      		a bracket crowned by a niche:  and decorated by niches
                                                                      		with shell foliation, always a panel idea while the full
                                                                      		ogee is reserved for open niche above. which has stone
                                                                      		shafts, those at below being of wood.
                                                                      Venetian	This large bracket then may be given as a type of the main
                                                                      Florid design	plan of Venetian florid design:  The rows of acanthus of
                                                                      		classic work become rows of leaves with curled lobes:
                                                                      		and the lowest row, instead of curling out, curls in &
                                                                      		meets the other in various degrees of pitch.  The rib
                                                                      		below outside and above inside.
                                                                      		The corner capital of Doges Palace is exactly this
                                                                      		developed to an extraordinary degree.

                                                                      		The perfect type of the Tomb, at once tomb and monument -
                                                                      		of the Middle   Ages;  consists of a sarcophagus with a
                                                                      		recumbent figure, and a canopy above;  One or more of these
                                                                      		members may be absent;  the canopy often - the recumbent
                                                                      		figure often:  the sarcophagus;  the effigy being laid
                                                                      		upon the stone covering the grave:  But in the best
                                                                      		examples   all  are present
