of Secresy Vid pp 58, 59.
asserted; the reserve of knowledge being only the
natural result of the absence of vanity in it; with the
perception of the impossibility of its rapid communication
under any circumstances - and of its safe communication
under many: while at the same time a wise man is
never reserved except from necessity but "willing to
communicate"
The fourth kind also is one observed more than recommended
and the two others are self evident.
There are also three kinds of blameworthy secresy:
1. To conceal our own sins (10)
2. The concealment of our Love over Hatred (3) (9)
3. The concealment of our real opinions, winking with
the eye, &c - (1)
On the whole however, and adding the consideration of the
Kingly Secresy (7) the passages in Proverbs are much in
favour of Reserve as a part of character.
