doseared; or were coming off. They have no unity of
spring. No sweep nor strength nor concave hold; though
much waved and undulated perfectly flaccid and clumsy
in their stems: The extremity of the one over the head
of the hindermost figure is peculiarly vulgar in its turn-
ing up: The trunk of the tree is good; founded on that
of the Noah but f[r]ar inferior. A little bit of naturalism
a lizard real size on the knob at its elbow, is very nice.
The bracket below is well cut, but so wild and violent
in its double twisted lobes that it looks actually
shrivelled up by the sunshine; its ribs and root are
fine, but it is a painful contract to the exquisite brac-
kets of the Noah and Adam.
