No 176, 177, 178.
The most important of the tomb inside the count I have
daguerred - it is remarkable for its bold and beauti-
ful brackets two carrying the canopy and two the sarco-
phagus one of the latter is drawn on No 17[4]4 pure section
and front and side profile, the section of one of the
former on No 176, curious for its anomalously lev[b]elled
ridge in the middle; in the leaf lines the first inmost
is pure bracket section - the second the edge of leaf
the third the central rib of leaf - the way they rise out
of the roll is extraordinaryly beautiful On the backs
part of this section is given as traced on the stone.
No 177 shows the shafts seen from inside I never
saw a vaulting rib so carried before.
