DUCAL PALACE
Now, Bottis p 9 says that Calendo is finished the larger
Council to the 7th column and that the junction is plain-
ly seen. But Bethro is documentarily wrong in his
cane ogmen sa if clendunis was absent in 1350.
Selvatico. depends on the words of the Cronaca Zuncarola refare
le fazada, (p 125)
I should like to see the words of the decree itself
but looking at it to-day, I think it evident that the
whole upper part has been of brick; and the refuse be
fazoda refers to the marble only.
I must examine therefore this marble facing, with respect
to its joints, upon the arcade, to its junction with cen-
tral b[l]alcony etc.
Selviatico’s idea is evidently that the interior of the palace
was built at the time stated by Sausovino vid sentence
at p 127, and faced afterwards; the outer column being
adapted to the inner cross wall.
But what does he mean by faced There is but one wall and
that stands on the pillars if the wall was there, the
pillars must have been there - or else, the wall was inside
and the inner arcade, of whic he says nothing. What his
idea is, hardly appears. But the words of the decree
Note. The words of the decree, p 183 pureri fiat id quod famae house, et
utilitas terrae.
